Draft Order Released

Johnstahn, PA: The official 2008 DFFL draft order was released today.

The order is as follows:

1 - Mike

2 - Uncle Sloppy

3 - Nick

4 - Emily

5 - Corey

6 - Green Day Tractors

7 - Molly

8 - Uncle Pat

9 - One-T

10 - Adam

11 - Joseph

12 - Uncle Gary

Again, Mike gets the first pick. Chances of this happening two years running - 0.7%. He is like the Chicago Bulls of the DFFL. Mike, as you get orientated at college, feel free to make your first pick whenever. Just let everyone know via email.

For anyone that is confused, the picture is of the Commish drawing Mike's lottery ball. My photoshopping skills are about as poor as my fantasy football drafting skills.

Draft Day Announced

Let's go live to the league offices in Johnstown, PA.

The Commissioner has called together a press conference. It appears he is coming to the podium now.

Hi, everyone!

As Commissioner of the DFFL, it is my pleasure to announce that this year's draft will be held at 6 pm Sunday August 31, 2008.

The draft will once again be held via chatroom. There should be a few groups of people that will be together.

In order to keep the draft going efficiently, I will not be updating a website with picks. Please keep track on your own. I will send everyone a template to use.

I will be using a website to determine the drafting order. The draft order will be determined later today, and an email will be automatically sent to you from the website.

If you have the first pick, feel free to make your selection. If we can get through some of the first round via email, all the better. No picks will be final until draft day (to account for possibility of injury, arrest, suspension, or pots-and-pans robot attack).

PS - Just so everyone knows, that building up top is the flood museum. Well, it WAS the flood museum. It is now known as the DFFL Offices. We do maintain a satelitte office at Friendship Village in Bedford, PA.

Official DFFL Logo Unveiled

Johnstahn, PA: The Dombroski Fantasy Football League is proud to unveil its official logo today. The logo will be used on all official league documents, letterhead, and tattoos. It is an official registered trademark in the league but only in the countries of Syria, Liechtenstein, and Botswana. Any use of the trademark in those countries must first be approved by the league.

At the ceremony, Commisioner Gallagher was so proud of the new logo that he had it branded on his left buttock. Unfortunately for the Commish, he was unable to sit down at the post-press conference luncheon. The lunch included standard DFFL fare such as ham, rigatonis, pirogis, and pigs-in-a-blanket.

Breaking News from DFFL Office

Directly from the DFFL Office in Johnstown, PA:

The 3rd Annual Dombroski Fantasy Football League has been declared open.

Each owner should have received an invite from ESPN.com via thier email. Just follow the instructions and sign up.

(If you have not gotten an email, let the Commish know ASAP.)

Why go with ESPN.com this year? Well, a few reasons. Not only is the league completely customizable, but there is free live scoring.

And who doesn't want to see how badly Adam is losing in real-time?

Commish Reinstates Mike Vick

Arlington, VA: On his first day in the 2008 season of the Dombroski Fantasy Football League, Commisioner Gallagher reinstates Michael Vick into the League. Of course, Mike is still locked away in some minimum security prison, but that hasn't stopped the Commish from welcoming the fellow Hokie with open arms. Mr. Gallagher said in a statement, "We're very happy to have Michael with us for the 2008-2009 season. He is a talented and gifted fantasy football player. And the best thing is, he'll play for free! Oh yeah, he's a Hokie and I love him." No word on Vick's team name yet but there is a rumor that the Commish will try to recruit Vick's brother Marcus as well.

Congratulations, ma'am. It's a website.

Yes, I know it may not be believable. And I know I slacked off a bit last year (apparently this job thing gets tougher after you're in it for a while).

But the times they are a-changin'. We will most likely be using ESPN.com this year since they have automatic updates. We have an official news website. And I will not suck this year.
